Howard Herman, M.D. is a pioneer in the minimally invasive management of snoring, sleep apnea, and chronic sinusitis. He has published book chapters, surgical manuals, and research articles in his field and regularly teaches surgical courses for Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson. He is double board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and in Sleep Medicine. He has been practicing with ENT of Georgia since 1993.

Dr. Howard Herman specializes in the minimally invasive office-based management of sleep apnea, snoring, and chronic sinusitis and he utilizes the most advanced technologies to optimize patient results and minimize recovery time. He performs more pillar implants than any other physician in the southeastern US. He thoroughly evaluates the causes of patients’ snoring or sleep apnea and customizes therapy accordingly. In addition to Pillar implants, he provides a full range of other minimally invasive procedures such as in-office base of tongue reduction with radiofrequency, in-office turbinate reduction, in-office tonsil reduction, and palatal reduction procedures.

For patients with more severe sleep apnea who are either unable or unwilling to tolerate CPAP therapy, Dr. Herman offers the full range of surgical procedures such as septoplasty, uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP), and tongue and hyoid advancement procedures using the AIRvance system.

Dr. Herman also has special training and experience in the latest therapies to manage nasal obstruction and sinus problems. Most patients are effectively managed with non-surgical therapies. However, when necessary, Dr. Herman has extensive experience with the most advanced sinus surgery techniques including computer image guidance and Balloon Sinuplasty. Certain patients can even undergo Balloon Sinuplasty procedures in the office using local anesthesia and return to work within 1-2 days.

He is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Herman sees patients in the Stockbridge and Buckhead offices of ENT of Georgia and Atlanta Snoring Institute.
